- Lets see if another place has had the same problem...This is Interesting, Wintefield and Summerfiled had an outbreak last year.
- Qualitative studies conducted in the two towns showed that the outbreak was due to low vaccine uptake.
- One of the reasons for poor vaccine uptake was vaccine hesitancy. I wonder if this is the same reason for our outbreak

- Hey Phindi, I've been reading up on some literature on different outbreaks in areas similar to Springfiled. Did you know Winterfiled and Summerfiled also had outbreaks?
- Well, In Wintertown 87% of new cases were not vaccinated. In Summerville 79% of the new cases were also not vaccinated.
- A mixed method study? That is a brilliant idea! I will go inform the rest of the team. Dr Khan and Dr Khumalo can be co-authors. They have wealth of experience in public health and research.
- So how are we going to find out if its the same for Springfield?
- After that we will proceed with a Quantitative study to further see what percentage of our new cases were vaccinated. We will then compare the results of both studies to understand this phenomenon. This will help us come up with ideas to improve vaccine uptake and influence public health policies.
- Good question Phindi. We can conduct a qualitative study to find out what the community of Springfield think about vaccination. We will do this by having focus groups and semi structured interviews.
