- The kingdom was divided among their sons.
- All this land is mine, I am older!
- Boys stop fighting!
- It is all MINE, I am the favorite!
- Frankish kings grew weaker.
- I know, what should we do this has gone on too long!!
- We can't do this!
- This is not going to end well.
- The Mayors took over
- Finally this is ours to rule!
- Hooray!!
- The following kings after Clovis were way worse. They divided the land between their sons. This caused the sons to fight. They spent so much time fighting that that they lost much of their power to their local nobles.
- The Frankish kings are now struggling, and having too may fights. It was not long before the Franks began to accept the leadership of a government known ask the "Mayor of the Palace."
- During the time while the Frankish kings were struggling the mayors began to take over. During this take over the Mayors were conducting wars, giving out land, and settling disputes that the franks started.
