- The Border Fight

- RETREAT!!!
- WE ARE AT WAR!!!
- Mexico has Numbers
- We have more troops!
- The United States and Mexico were arguing about the border of Texas. The U.S. thought it was the Rio Grande, and Mexico thought it was the Nueces River. So General Zachary Taylor took his troops to protect the border.
- The U.S. has Cannons
- But we have Horse Artillery!
- A skirmish happens after Mexico thinks the U.S. invades Mexico so the U.S. declares war.
- Battle Scene
- FIRE!
- The U.S. troops are back after retreating. Going into the battle, the Mexican Army had more troops, but...
- The U.S. Wins!!!
- RETREAT!!!
- The U.S. army had horse artillery and better-trained troops.
- The battle happened in an open field so the Mexican troops couldn't do much about the cannons.
- AHHHHHH!
- The U.S. eventually made the Mexican troops retreat and this battle helped the U.S. boost their morale to beat the Mexican army at the Battle of Resaca De La Palmas
- YAY!
