- Hey bestfriend, Sick party right?
- Starr Carter and her Childhood bestfriend Khalil are at a party when all of a sudden a gunshot is heard from within. They swiftly leave the party and Khalil offers to drive Starr home.
- Yeah man, it's dope
- Khalil and Starr get pulled over for having a broken tail light. The officer asks where they're coming from and Khalil responds with "nunya". The officer instructs Khalil to get out of the car with his hands behind his back and to not make any sudden movements
- Khalil opens the car door while the officer has his back turned and asks Starr if she's ok. The officer shoots Khalil in the back and a frightened Starr rushes out to check on him. The officer points his gun at her and tells her not to move
