I heard that if workers are not unionized, they should elect a spokesperson to contact the Union.
Lets elect a spokesperson who shall make contact with a Union for us then.
Management does not want compensate for rotational shifts. We need to be unionized.
TRADE UNIONS AND THEIR ETHOS Trade Unions are created for and by employees to enhance organisational and social justice through serving the intrests of workers in society and of the employees in the workplace.So as to improve total work experiences, terms and conditions and working circumstances of their members. Trade Unions act on behalf of their members, evan beyond the limits of the organisation within the wider society. They do this making use of methods such as representation and collective bargaining ( Bendix, 2019)

I am elected to be shop stewardWe will provide: buildi a strong, democratic organisation controlled by its members, solidarity of all workers,oppose discrimination and exploitationWe call on all those who identify with this commitment to join us as comrades inthe struggle ahead.
REPRESENTATIVE UNION:There are over 2500 workers working in the plant . As the majority union with more than 1000 workers on the shopfloor Sarah the Shop Steward needs to recruit 500 + 1 workers
The trade union has informed the management of the Processing Plant about the organizational rights .It has sent its proof of registration and proof of representativeness.. Meanwhile Sarah the the newly appointed Trade Union shop steward gives her Union's contact address and who new Union organiser elected.
Workers at a petrol processing plant have many unresolved issues. They have attempted countless times to address them with management to no avail. Recently they have been forced to sign letters of non disclosure so as to not complain to the media about their work ordeals . What is their next step?

TRADE UNION AND ITS CONCERNS In South Africa, the Labour Relations Act of 1995 defines a union as ' an association of employees whose primery primery purpose is to regulate relations between employees and employers including any employers' organiosation' ( Bendix, 2019)

Thank you all for electing me as the new union organiser.My duties as an organiser is to represent members grievances disciplinary hearings , conciliation and arbitration.I will also provide guidance and assistance to trade union Representatives such as Sarah our Shop Steward and to you the workers of this plant .
ORGANISATIONAL RIGHTS OF MAJORITY UNION:Access to the workplace .The right to hold meetings on premises outside of working time, The right to conduct ballots on employer premises, stop order for membership fees.Time off for office duties.Additional time off for shop steward training.

PROCEDURES FOR GAINING ORGANISATIONAL RIGHTS Through the designated Union organiser, the union has informed the employer in writing of the organizational rights they shall be utalizing and that hey have been granted. The union has also sent its proof of registration and representativeness.As such the employer has 30 days to reply and arrange a meeting with the union.Shall the employer refuse to recognise the representativeness of the union the matter may be reffered to the CCMA (Bendix, 2019)
CEPPAWU has sent to you proof of registration and of representativeness in the plant.

ROLE OF A ORGANISER Is to recruit all non members and members of other unions to join the majority unionRecruit no less than 40 new members per month.Provide advicec to members on working conditions , procedure, agreements and policies.
As wokers of this plant we have quite a number of issues to address but the most pressing is the wage increases we desperately need.
Representative Union According to LRA Section 12, 13, 15 the majority trade union representatives are granted rights to :Access to the workplace Right to meetings on the premises outside the working time right to conduct ballots on the employers premisesTime off for union bearers to perform functions related to their officeAdditional time off for shop stewards training.
We have come to communicate that we will be utalising our organisational rights as representatives of CEPPAWU, the majority trade union in this organisation . This is to perform my unions functions., since I am a office bearer of the union as a union organiser.
