- I cant believe we became mothers at the same time! Adam and John are going to be besties!
- Same! Yes they are!
- This might be a little weird but, I need a second opinion. I got Adam circumcised, and my mother in law is furious... I thought it was the right thing to do! What did you do?
- *gasp* Oh no! I would never do that to my sweet little John! Why did you do that? What made you think that was the right thing to do??!
- Well, according to my research, circumcision makes it 10x less likely for Adam to get a severe UTI during childhood. Which can become a risk once Adam is old enough to be potty trained!
- Boys rarely get UTIs... and even if Adam does get a UTI, there are medications that would help. Imagine how much pain Adam had to be put through during the procedure, and imagine the potential complications that could've occured.
- There is only a 0.2%-0.6% chance that there will be a complication during the procedure, and an anesthetic is used to numb the area beforehand, so Adam didn't feel a thing! What about when he grows up? Circumcised men are at a lower risk for getting STIs.
- Thats why condoms exist. DUH! No need for a surgery when there are already protective measures out there. I just find it disturbing that your baby didn't even have a choice! I mean that's such a violation!
- I just think that overall, circumcising Adam was the best choice. It can be beneficial in many ways to the health and cleanliness of his genital areas and as his mom, I want him to be as healthy as can be.
- There's really no difference in how clean or healthy he will be whether circumcised or not, it all comes down to the person themselves. But you think that's what's best, and you can't undo it now. So no need to worry about it .
- You're right. Circumcised or uncircumcised, it really doesn't matter. All that matters is that we both have healthy baby boys. Thank you for talking with me about this.
- Im always here for you. And hey! If John ever does decide he wants to get circumcised as he gets older, the option will still be there. I'll just leave it up to him to decide.
