- The stamp act impacted all civilians, and taxed many things.
- What the heck! Why do I have to give you 4 pence? That’s Outrageous!
- There’s this new rule. Every paper that I make and sell is taxed 17% to the British Government. Do you want to put up my poster about it?
- These things included newspapers, dice, playing cards, almanacs, and pamphlets at a rate of 17% according to lumen learning.com (page one, paragraph three, author unknown).
- Yeah, get me some playing cards so I can gamble my pains away.
- Stamp Act and U The stamp act was issued in 1765 and instead o levying a duty on trade goods, the British tasxed the colonists directly. This included newspapers, playing cards, dice, legal documents, pamphlets, and almanacs.
