- I wonder what those farmers do with all that agricultural waste...
- I'm starting a new biomass powerplant and need plant waste to produce clean energy. Can you help?
- Sure. There's plenty on this farm. This is a great way to ensure there is no real waste from farming.
- Meanwhile on Television...
- The plant waste or lignocellulosic biomass is then transported to the powerplant to be processed.
- After hydrolysis the cellulose is broken down but the lignin isn't. What are we going to do about it?
- Enzymes
- No worries, it will be combusted to produce energy and the product of the main process will be bioethanol which can be used as a fuel.

- Hydrolysis
- Fermentation
- Bioethanol is collected then stored until ready to be sold to consumers.

- OOOH so that's what they do with the waste. I didn't know that energy and biofuel can be produced from biomass.
