- Our planet is beautiful, isn't it? Earth has such diverse flora and fauna; it's truly awe inspiring.But do you know the commonality between all the objects? It is Carbon.

- Earth supports a Carbon based life-form. It can happen because Carbon has the ability to form long chain 🔗 like structure with other carbon atoms as well as other elements.

- You know , Carbon also has a staggering number of forms. In fact, the total number of Carbon compounds are higher than any other element's compound from the periodic table.This is possible because of Catenation - two carbon atoms form covalent bonds, which is more stable than any other elements' bonds.

- I get it! It is just like the buildings in this city. The buildings being the Carbon and nature being other elements' compounds.
- First is the hardest material known to humankind. Second we use this material to write.Third is found in our food to make it sweet.
- Now, you must have understood that Carbon is extremely versatile. Can you guess some forms of carbon that we encounter commonly?

- The hardest material is Diamond. We write with Graphite pencils. Carbohydrates are naturally present in fruits and vegetables to sweeten our food and give us energy.
