Storyboard Text

  • I pray thee, good Mercutio, let's retire. The day is hot, the Capulets aboard, and if we meet we shall not 'scape a brawl;
  • Come, some, thou art as hot a jack in thy mood as any in Italy, and as soon moved to be moody, and as soon moody to be moved.
  • Gentlemen, good e'en. A word with one of you.
  • Tybalt, you ratchatcher. Will you walk?
  • Tybalt, the reason that I have to love thee doth much excuse the appertaining rage to such a greeting. Villain am I none. Therefore farewell, I see thou knowest me not.
  • Boy, this shall not excuse the injuries that thou hast done me. Therefore turn and draw!
  • Courage, man, the hurt cannot be much.
  • No, 'tis not so deep as a well, nor so wide as a church door, but 'tis enough. 'Twill serve.Ask for me tomorrow, and you shall find me a grave man. 
  • Benvolio warns Mercutio not to get in a fight with the Capulets while they walking on the Verona street. Tybalt shows up looking for Romeo. He insults Mercutio and makes Mercutio challenge him to fight.
  • O Romeo, Romeo, brave Mercutio is dead.
  • This gentleman, the Prince's near ally, my very friend, hath got this mortal hurt in my behalf. O sweet Juliet, thy beauty hath made me effeminate and in my temper softened valor's steel!
  • Romeo shows up and tries to convince Tybalt not to start a fight. Tybalt insults Romeo and tells Romeo to fight with him. Mercutio challenges Tybalt to fight to defends for Romeo's honour.
  • Romeo, away, begone!
  • Either thou or I, or both, must go with him.
  • When Mercutio and Tybalt are fighting with each others, Romeo comes in between them and tries to stop the fight. Mercutio get stabbed by Tybalt under Romeo's arm after he came in the battle.
  • Tybalt, my cousin, O my brother's child! Romeo slew Tybalt; Romeo must not live.
  • Romeo slew him; He slew Mercutio. Who now the price of his blood doth owe?
  • Not Romeo, Prince; he was Mercutio's friend.
  • Romeo feels guilty about Mercutio's injury after Mercutio is stabbed by Tybalt. Then he received the word from Benvolio that Mercutio was dead.
  • Romeo finds Tybalt and tells him either one or both of them have to die to be with Mercutio in death. He killed Tybalt and Benvolio told him to run away.
  • After Romeo leaves, the Prince, the Montagues and the Capulets show up. Benvolio explains the whole process of the fight to the Prince. Lady Capulet asks the Prince to send Romeo to death. But the Prince only declares the banishment of Romeo because Romeo killed someone who killed his relative. If Romeo comes back, he will be killed.
  • And for that offence immediately we do exile him hence
