- 1. "Choose a day when the waves are small but regular.” Make some armor, “wrapping clothes or blankets around your limbs” will suffice.
- SCREEE!!
- Tip: Don't invoke TOO much or the animal will attack & don't step into their territory.
- 2. Provoke the animal. You can“noisily intrude into the neutral zone," between your and their territory. "It is important that you make a consistent, recognizable noise to signal your aggression.” A whistle works nicely.
- Screee!
- 3. Provoke a border intrusion from the animal by “backing off slowly as you are making your noises.” DO NOT BREAK EYE CONTACT.

- 4. Once the animal crosses the line, increase your noise to its maximum and unanchor the boat.
- Screee!!
- 5. The animal “must associate its increasing nausea with the shrill cries of the whistle.” You can rock the boat with your feet too.
- 6. Once the animal looks sick, stop and allow it to recover fully before repeating these steps. The animal will soon associate nausea with the whistle so one blow should “deal with trespassing or any other untoward behavior.”
- Tip: Use whistle ONLY when needed.
