- The narrative begins with Alfredo overhearing his family discussing his marriage and why he hasn't married Esperanza, whom he has been engaged to for four years. On the other hand, he met the innocent and naïve Julia Salas during a trip and fell in love with her.

- Alfredo had gone to Judge Del Valle's residence with Don Julian, where he met Julia Salas. Despite his engagement to Esperanza, he fell in love with Julia.
- Alfredo battles his fate and the circumstances of life and love that he faces throughout the story. He needs to face problems in choosing between difficult choices in his life since everyone takes it for granted that Alfredo will eventually marry Esperanza.

- It was when Julia found out about Alfredo’s wedding and she congratulated him. Alfredo was in a big dilemma. Would he choose what he wanted to? Or would he choose what he had to?
- He had finally found closure after seeing Julia Salas again after all of his years of marriage. He realized that the solutions to his what-if questions no longer piqued his interest; he had been staring up at a dead star after all.

- PlotThe plot of the story Dead Star is about the romantic relationship between the three main characters, Alfredo, Esperanza, and Julia. The beginning of the story is dominated by the engagement between Alfredo and Esperanza. But soon after, Alfredo met Julia, with whom he fell in love while he was still engaged to Esperanza.
