  • Two years later...
  • It's been two years with my N. I am looking forward to applying for a full license now.
  • After having your N for 24 consecutive months with no probation you are now eligible to test for a full license.
  • Just like the rest of the driving tests you must first book an appointment beforehand and it is recommended to still practice and study for the test, regardless of the type of test you're taking.
  • I feel as though I am ready. I have brushed up on some essential driving skills such as parallel and angle parking, driving through intersections, navigating through heavy flows of traffic, merging on and off of a highway, hazard awareness, as well as the proper protocols when there are emergency vehicles on the road.
  • I am hoping to have my full license before I am 21, so I would really like to pass my test. However, if I don't pass the first time I can retake the test after 14 days and try again!
  • Make sure that you have all of the proper documents and your I.D. before going to take your class 5 driver's license test.
  • Even though you passed and do not have any special restrictions that does not mean you are exempt from the law. So, here are some little reminders for the road no matter what driving level you are licensed at.
  • Yay! I passed. I now have my full drivers license. I am happy to be a responsible driver in British Columbia.
  • There is absolutely no handheld devices while driving, and do not drive if you are under the influence of alcohol. Stay proactive while on the road and be responsible. Do not speed and refresh the laws for driving now and then. These can help you to consistently be a safe and responsible driver.
  • Things to keep in mind:
  • The year 2022-2023: Preparing for my L test. Studying by reviewing driving books and using apps to simulate driving August 3rd, 2023:My sixteenth birthday and the day I would like to test for my L. The year 2024-2025:Depending on my driving ability and anxiety I feel towards driving I may test for my Novice license at this point. However, this cannot be preplanned as I do not know how I will feel. At least 24 consecutive months after that: At this point in my driving journey I may feel confident in testing for my full license. I really I would like to have my full license before I am 21. However it is not something I significantly value if I end up having my full license when I am slightly older. Again I will just need to see when I am feeling confident and ready enough too drive on my own.
