  • Hans and Sybil Eysenck believed that two main dimensions guide our personalities. One can either be introverted or extroverted, depending on how well one interacts with others. One could also be emotionally stable or instable, depending on their own inner feelings and how they handle certain situations emotionally.
  • How Horney Sees Me
  • No one's gonna love me. I should just disassociate myself from society.
  • Alfred Adler believed that birth order plays a large influence on our personality. He believed that the core of one's personality is focused on the fight against inferiority. Only children tend to get along well with their parents and tend to share characteristics with those born first.

  • Albert Bandura set forth the theory of Reciprocal Determinism which states that how people think, behave, and what one's environment is like all interact to create their personality. As a hostess, it is my job to greet people with kindness. Personally, I always try to be kind to everyone I meet. I also surround myself with kind people which also influences my friendliness.

  • Karen Horney believed that people build their personalities around fighting rejection. She believed people feel most helpless when not getting enough love and will react with aggression, withdraw, or compliance.
  • Carl Rogers believed that all people possess the inherent need to grow and achieve their fullest potential. He believe that self-actualization was one of the main forces that drives behavior.
  • This world is so big and there is so much room for me to grow. I will work really hard to get to where I want to be.
  • Costa and McCrae believed that there are "The Big Five Personality Traits" that make up one's personality. These include openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and Neuroticism. This example represents agreeableness as I am cooperating and collaborating.
