- The antagonist is the narrator. He begins the story by telling the audience that he is not crazy. By calmly telling us how wise and cunning he was and planning and carrying out the murder of a old man. He tells the listing her his motive for murder is the old mans [vulture eye].

- The narrator watches the man sleep. He wants to kill him but he cant. He cant kill him because his eye is shut. It is 12 am. He leaves the room.

- It is the 8th night of the narrator watching the old man at night. The old man wakes up. The old man cannot see the narrator but he knows he's there. The narrator sees that the old mans eye is open. He can also hears the old mans heart beat.

- He murderd him!!!!!

- The narrator is scared the neighbors will hear the old mans heartbeat. The narrator then screams and leaps onto the old man, he smothers the old man with a mattress killing him.

- The narrator hides the body under the floor. The police arrive shortly after. He tells them to com in because he is confident they wont find the body. He tells them to sit down. He pulls out 2 cars and puts them right above the old mans body.
