- Darry,Sodapop and ponyboy are all brothers who live together because their parents are dead. There is also Johnny and Dally who are friends with then and are also greasers. They are all tight in a gang
- Climax
- There is also a group called the socs and they have more money and nicer cars then the greasers they hate echother and often have rumbles
- Falling action
- The abandon church ponnyboy and Johnny were staying at caught fire Johnny gets very badly injured in a fire after saving kids that were stuck in the fire. They were hero.
- Resolution
- The greasers and Socs have big rumble and th greasers beat the socs because the socs run off. Johnny dies in the hospital due to his injuries and tells ponyboy to stay gold
- Dally runs off because of Johnnys death and purposfuly gets the cops to chase him. Then he pulls out his gun so that the cop shoots him.
- All the charges are dropped in court and Soad,Darry and Ponyboy get to stay together. Ponyboy finally realizez what Johnny meant by stay gold and goes back to him old self
