Текст на Статията

  • Relax Lizzy, I already got the Pfizer vaccine.
  • Yeah but that was just the first dose and you literally got it like 3 days ago!
  • Jacob, Can you just put your mask back on?!
  • So? What's the difference? A vaccine is a vaccine.
  • The whole point of the vaccine, Lizzy, is to stop me from getting sick so you're making no sense.
  • No Jacob, there's so much more to it. You haven't even gotten the second dose yet and even if you did, you still have to be careful.
  • I thought you only spoke English and see, you're still making no sense. Why would I have to be careful after getting the second dose if two weeks would've long passed?
  • Haha, SARS-CoV-2 is just the name of the virus that causes COVID-19 and that two week time period starts AFTERthe second dose of the Pfizer vaccine.
  • You might think it's that simple but it's not. Studies are showing that it typically takes up to two weeks after vaccination for our bodies to build protection against SARS-CoV-2.
  • Oh psht, then after the two week mark passes I can stop wearing this stupid mask then. Great!
  • You're kidding me right? Then what's the point of the vaccine if we can't just go back to normal after taking it?
  • And that's where you're wrong again. Scientists are still learning how well the vaccines prevent us from spreading the virus, even if we show no symptoms.
  • Seems like scientists should know if the vaccines are effective or not before giving them to people... just saying.
  • Haha. Studies show that the COVID-19 vaccines are effective at keeping us from getting COVID-19 and if we do get it, we won't be seriously ill.
  • It's not all in vain Jacob. It's just that the virus that causes COVID-19 is genetically unstable and because there are so many changes happening when it is infecting our cells, that makes it harder to develop effective vaccines against it.
  • All I'm hearing is Studies show this, studies show that...
  • I see. Guess I'll have to rethink this whole vaccination and mask business after all.
  • Oh Jacob...
  • That's because even though vaccines have been approved and are showing positive results, there is still a lot to be studied about these vaccines so we still need to take precautions.
