The Tale of Despereaux

- Despereaux was sent to the dungeon where he meets Gregory the Jailor
- I am Gregory the jailer. I have the same red thread tied to my ankle as you have tied around your neck which helps me roam in the dungeon without being getting lost. You be aware of rats as they are very cunning and dangerous.
- Despereaux was born with a very small body but big ears and eyes open. His parents and his brother called him disappointment because as he has very big ears like a donkey's ears and his eyes were open when he was born, and he has a very tiny body.
- Miggery Sow and Roscuro
- But we are friends and friends do not hurt anyone. And Roscuro do you like soup? I can get you some soup.
- I want to be a princess.
- Despereaux's parents and his brother warned him not to talk or go near humans. But, he did not listen to them and one day while roaming the palace he goes in the room where King Phillip was playing music and singing to Princess Pea. Princess Pea saw Despereaux and told his dad but, the King got angry as soon as he saw him. Princess Pea wanted to keep Despereaux, but the King scattered him away. All these incidents Despereaux's brother saw and reported it back to his dad. 
- Despereaux saves the Princess Pea from the Dungeon
- You are my Knight with a shining needle!
- Despereaux was sent to the dungeon with a red thread tied around his neck where he meets Gregory the jailer who rescues him and told him to stay far from rats as they are very cunning and bad.
- Happy Ending
- Miggery Sow was sold by her dad after her mother died. She worked very hard day and night but always received good beatings from the person who bought her. As a result, she lost her hearing and sense of smell. She was then rescued by a soldier from the castle and took her to the castle to work as a maid. When she saw Princess Pea, she wanted to become a princess. She met Roscuro the rat who was responsible for the death of the Queen. He wanted to take revenge on the princess by sending her to the dungeon, which he did with the help of Miggery Sow holding a knife at the princess.
- Mig you can't be a princess, so tie the princess and do as I say.
- Despereaux goes into the dungeon to save the princess Pea and there he meets the rats who wants to eat him. One of the rats named Botticelli took him to the place where the Princess Pea was held. Despereaux took a needle as a weapon and held it against the chest of Roscuro. Roscuro smelled Despereaux and he smelled soup which he likes the most. The Princess asks Roscoro if he wants to have some soup which was made illegal by the King after the death of the Queen. Then Miggery Sow, Princess Pea and Despereaux made out of the dungeon and back into the castle.
- After the Princess Pea was rescued, the King made the soup again legal and Roscuro the rat who took the princess to the dungeon was allowed to come up in the castle and have soup. In the end the King, Princess Pea, Miggery Sow who got united with her father and who treated her nicely, and Despereaux enjoyed soup together.
