  • This event was significant to colonists because the Louisiana Purchase allowed them to expand trade by floating their goods downstream to the New Orlean’s port where they could be shipped all around the world which in turn boosted the US economy. It was also significant to France because Napolean could use the money received from the Louisiana Purchase to fund the invasion of England.
  • Step 4: Pretend like you are willing to go to war to Convince England to Sell the Oregon Territory for Cheap
  •  This event was significant to the Choctaw, Chickasaw, Seminole, Creek and Cherokee Native American tribes because they lost their homes and land to the colonists which made them angry and forced them to move West. It was also significant to the settlers because they gained valuable, fertile land in the South which allowed them to expand upon their use of agriculture to fuel their economy.
  • Step 5: Declare War on Mexico to Take Over Lands All the Way to California
  •  This event was significant to Texans because the Battle of the Alamo gave them new confidence and led to increased support by the US which allowed Texas to achieve independence. This event was also significant to the Mexicans because it caused them to have a false sense of confidence which led to their loss of Texas.
  •  Step 6: Kick the Rest of the Indians in the West off Their Lands
  • Even if we win the battle, we can't win the war.

  • This event was significant to the settlers because land access to the Pacfic allowed them to increase their trade routes and have access to more resources like gold and fur which in turn boosted the US economy. It was also significant to many American Indian tribes because they lost most of their land again and were forced onto reservations.
