- Mrs. Louise Mallard, is a married woman with a heart condition so she must be informed carefully.
- Mrs. Mallard's husband is away.Louise’s husband’s friend, Richards, learned about a railroad disaster when he was in the newspaper office and saw Louise’s husband, Brently, on the list of those killed but he didn't check if its Mallard.
- Louise, I have a news about your husband. Your husband had an accident, he is already dead.
- Mrs.Mallard's sister, Josephine breaks the news about her husband's death.
- What??
- Mrs.Mallard begins sobbing when Josephine tells her of Brently’s death and goes upstairs to be alone in her room. Through grieving she realizes that she is now free from a marriage in which she wasn't truly happy. So though she mourns, secretly she's elevated.
- Free, free. free! Free, body and soul, free!
- Wahh!!
- After Mrs,Mallard comes to the conclusion that she is now free, she walks down.The front door unexpectedly opens, and Brently comes in. He hadn’t been in the train accident or even aware that one had happened.
- I've returned home from my trip.Why does everyone seem so shocked?
- Mrs. Mallard screams and collapses, dead. The doctor said that she died of heart disease of joy that kills. He thought she was so overjoyed to see him that she died but in reality, she realized her freedom was never to be and that killed her.
- She died because of heart disease-of joy that kills.
