- That's right ma'am, I did observe that when I went to USA last year, where I met a good Indian family and we were speaking Hindi so comfortably
- Native language, tend to shape one's identity and personality. People tend to feel secure with people with speaking the same language
- Hmm, but what about the sense of belonging, I still can't understand how it gives us that feeling?
- That's a very good example. You can yourself relate how native languages serve a bigger purpose than just communication.
- Look at it like this, if let's say a person speaking a different language were supposed to force you and your friends to stop learning your mother tongue, and rather learn their language, wouldn't you feel sad about not being able to learn or speak your mother tongue anymore?
- Yes, I think I would feel sad about it.
