  • Hi darrem! why are u absent earlier? Ah by the way we have quiz later in genetics and it is all about Non mendelian inheritance.
  • I went to my daily check up. Thank you for reminding me about the quiz. Do you want to come with me ? Im going to review the previous lesson. Let's ask each other about the lesson and the one who will get  a highscore will have a milktea as a reward.
  • In codominance, both alleles in the genotype are seen in the phenotype. In incomplete dominance, a mixture of the alleles in the genotype is seen in the phenotype. Your turn, give the example of codominance.\and incomplete dominance.
  • okay , sure. Start now! what is codominance and incomplete dominance ?
  • An example of codominance is the roan cow which has both red hairs and white hairs. In incomplete dominance a heterozygous individual blends the two traits. An example of incomplete dominance is the pink snapdragon, which receives a red allele and white allele.
  • Yes, so what is multiple allele, epistasis?
  • It is easy to determine using the punnet square right? My turn what is the question?
  • Multiple alleles is described when a trait is controlled by more than two alleles, and that even if a trait is controlled by more than two alleles each offspring still only inherits two. Epistasis occurs  when the expression of a gene is controlled by the expression of another gene .
  • You are smarter than me You know the lesson eventhough you did not attend the class earlier.
  • Teptep send a lecture notes about it and I already read it earlier that's why i know the different non mendelian but can you give some example because multiple allele and epistasis is not clear to me.
  • An example of epistasis is the interaction between hair colour and baldness. A gene for total baldness would be epistatic to one for blond hair or red hair. The haircolour genes are hypostatic to the baldness gene. The baldness phenotype supersedes genes for hair colour, and so the effects are non-additive. Did you get it?
  • Okay , sure. example of multiple allele inheritance is human blood type. Blood type exists as four possible phenotypes: A, B, AB, & O. There are 3 alleles for the gene that determines blood type. (Remember: You have just 2 of the 3 in your genotype  1 from mom & 1 from dad).
  • Do you got it?
  • Yes, you explain it well! What about epistasis?
  • He's nice and smart. (smiles)
  • Wow, now we are ready to take the quiz later. Anyway  who got the highest score?
  • But whast about the sex limited and sex influenced trait?
  • As far as I can remember Sex-limited traits are determined by genes located on autosomes and express only in one sex. While these traits are responsible considerably for sexual dimorphism, sex-influenced traits do not show distinctive expression between women and men.
  • Now I understand it well. I already know the polygenic inhetance and Lethal Alleles.
  • I'm just kidding. It's my treat  today since I learned a lot from you Thank you. Let's go there and buy some milktea.
