- This represents the conflict by how they had to stand out in the cold and snow. They had had to put up with the nature in order to survive. "Snow was falling heavily"(Wiesel 6).
- Man vs God
- This represents when Elie had to deal with Idek when he was getting hit over and over again. This happened from another person so it was man vs man. "He threw himself on me like a wild beast, beating me in the chest, on my head, throwing me on the ground and picking up again, crushing me with with ever more violent blows, until I was covered in blood" (Wiesel 4).
- Man vs Society
- This is the last days of the year
- This represents man vs self by when he was marching to Gleiwitz on the way there he thinking about stoping and letting himself die. This shows man vs self by him fighting with himself to keep going. "The idea of dying, ceasing to be, began to fascinate me"(Wiesel 6).
- This represent the conflict by when Elie has turned his back against god and isn't praying to him anymore because of the the things he has experienced and has gone through. "As for me, I had ceased to pray. I concurred with job. I was not denying his existence, but I doubted his absolute justice. (Wiesel 3).
- You are no help to me god
- This represents the conflict by it showing Elie vs the society by him having to face the end of the year and how bad it was. "The Jewish year was almost over. On the eve of Rosh Hashanah, the last day of that cursed year, the entire camp was agitated and everyone felt the tension"(Wiesel 5).
