Текст на Статията

  • Introduction
  • Biogeography Evidence 1
  • Biogeography Evidence 2
  • Biogeography and Fossil Record are evidence of Evolution. Biogeography shows the study of geographical distribution of organisms and Fossil Records show how the existence of now-extinct species during periods of time.
  • Introduce The Fossil Record
  • Biogeography is the study of the geographical distribution of organisms, provides information about how and when species may have evolved. Fossils provide evidence of long-term evolutionary changes, documenting the past existence of species that are now extinct.
  • The Fossil Record as Evidence for Evolution
  • The geographic distribution of organisms on Earth follows patterns that are best explained by evolution, in combination with the movement of tectonic plates over geological time. For example, broad groupings of organisms that had already evolved before the breakup of the supercontinent Pangaea (about 200million years ago) tend to be distributed worldwide
  • Conslusion
  • The fossil record helps geologists place important events and species in the appropriate geologic era. It is based on the Law of Superposition which states that in undisturbed rock sequences the bottom layers are older than the top layers.
  • Fossils document the existence of now-extinct species, showing that different organisms have lived on Earth during different periods of the planet's history. They can also help scientists reconstruct the evolutionary histories of present-day species.
  • In conclusion both Biogeography and Fossil Records are crucial evidence in evolution as they help shape how we find out things about the past of different organism and species
