hey! so today I'll be explaining Darwin's theory on evolution through natural selection
First, overpopulation
Adaption
overproduction is when a species will produce more offspring's than will survive
for examples these animals kept producing offspring's but only 1/10 would survive
overproduction
variation
next
competition is what caused by overproduction of a species. if there is so many of a species, the resources can not support them all . therefore, they must compete for them.
like the rabbit and deer both eat berries and plants, but there is only so much recourses
natural selection
competition
next
adaptation is the process of a species changing to be better fitted for survival of their environment
for awhile the rabbits used to be brown and white. However, since the change of environment and tree color, the black fur rabbits had a better chance of survival, so the bunnies adapted to their surroundings
next
A variation is when there is a variation between a species
for example, some rabbits now have white fur whereas some have brown
next
animals with better adaptations are more able to blend into their surrounds have a greater chance of surviving because they are less likely to be hunted by a predator
natural selection, this is the process of survival of the fittest. offspring's whom inherit a better survival trait will then survive and reproduce. Therefore, passing the trait to the offspring's'
