- Ashti Mohammad wakes up to another dreadful day in Iran. Ashti is sick of the oppression against women in her country. She is a senior in highschool and she has been counting down the days until she can go to college in America.
- Ok class, would anyone like to share what career path they want to take?
- Ashti wanted to be a police officer but it is forbidden for women to attain that career. She didn't even care what the teacher would think, she wanted to be a police officer.
- I want to be a police officer! I feel that women should be able to have the same jobs as men. It is unfair to discriminate based on gender.
- Ashti, get out of my class and go straight to the principal's office! That kind of horseplay will not be tolerated!
- Ashti's mother was called to pick Ashti up from school and she was furious. When Ashti got home her mother yelled at her then sent her straight to her room without any dinner. Ashti didn't regret what she did though. This was the day that Ashti knew she was going to start a revolution.
