  • Act 2 scene 1
  • Macbeth, I'm pleased to see you, I can't sleep since I've been thinking about prophecies and witches all night. I don't know what do!
  • Hmm, really? I haven't really given them much thought.
  • Act 2 Scene 1
  • What on earth is going on? Is this an actual dagger?
  • Act 2 Scene 2
  • Let's go home right now, Macbeth, before anyone notices, and let's wash this blood off of us so no one thinks we're involved in a crime.
  • It is done my lady, Duncan is dead!
  • On their way to bed at Macbeth's castle, Banquo and Fleance comeacross Macbeth emerging from the darkness of the night and Banquo tells him about how he couldn't sleep because he'd been thinking about the witches. Macbeth implies he doesn't think much about them, and Banquo and Fleance leave.
  • Act 2 Scene3
  • Morning, good Thane. We have important matters to discuss with the King. Is he awake yet?
  • No, I don't believe he's awake yet, but his room is just down the corridor.
  • After Banquo and Fleance leave, Macbeth has a hallucination of a dagger pointing the path to Duncan's death, with the handle pointing towards his hand, as if urging him to seize it and murder Duncan.
  • Act 2 Scene3
  • Macbeth enters Duncan's chamber, gripping the daggers in his hand, and murders him. He then returns from Duncan's chamber, covered in Duncan's blood, to inform his wife that he murdered Duncan and that he feels haunted and cursed. Lady Macbeth tries to console her husband by telling him that water would wash away all traces of crime and murder.
  • Act 2 Scene4
  • Ah wonderful!
  • I've come to tell you that we have decided upon Macbeth to be to take over the throne after our beloved king Duncan's death.He will be led to Scone to be crowned. 
  • The next morning, Macduff and Lennox headed to the castle, where an elderly porter allowed them in. They then proceed to meet with Macbeth to inform him they've been wanting to speak with the king, and they ask whether the king is awake. Macbeth assures them that the king is still sleeping and that the king's chamber is only down the corridor.
  • Macduff knocked on the king's chamber door and opened it, horrified and shocked to discover king Duncan killed. With a horrified expression on his face, he yells in terror.
  • My lord! The king is dead!
  • Ross, one of the thanes, talks about the weird storm the night before and the odd behavior of Duncan's horses. Macduff enters the castle to inform Ross that the thanes have determined Macbeth should be the new king and that they will follow him to Scone to be crowned, while blame for the killings has been put on Malcolm and Donalbian, who have mysteriously vanished from the scene.
