- On February 16, 2022 Carlos Rivera entered the school with a riffle and activated all the school fire drill alarms.
- Juan Smith was a survivor of a mass of shooting in Dream Stars high school where 50 individuals were killed.
- As soon people entered the hallways, Carlos started shooting and killing innocent students and teacher, one of the principles places that he entered was the library and he killed all the person that was there.
- after killing 50 students and teachers, Carlos blended in with the students and left the school but was later found by the police and taken into custody.
- No one understand the reason why Carlos killed those people that day. One person stated that he was having metal issues and that he needed help.

- Juan spoke at “ Our live safety speech” where he honored the 17 lives that were lost on February 16, 2022.
- Juan marched and participated in rallies to fight for stronger gun laws to prevent this tragic or other worse from happening in other schools.
