- foxes lived in many different places with many different organisms surrounding them. one of these places was the forest, with its cool shade, soft grass and big trees foxes loved it! but so did other prey and predators, for example foxes usually ate rodents, rabbits, and even birds which used to thrive in the forest but so did coyotes, bears, wolves and other predators to the fox. but that was in 2021...

- now it is 9010 and our researchers have figured out what happened to turn these forest loving creatures into the desert devils (as most locals call them) that we all know today

- it all started with a forest fire that was so big that it raged on and on for generations, us humans contained it to that one forest and we just kept growing trees and plants and grass with our drones and specially modified seeds that grew to full size in a week, little did we know that was just fueling the fire. so it never really got put out and the foxes adapted to have a thick fireproof coat that can help them regulate their body temperature it also took away their highlights and accents and they turned darker in color to blend in with the burned wood.

- then, when we realized we would have to let all the trees die before the fire would die we stopped putting plants in the forest slowly over generations of time so that all the foxes wouldn't die but what we didn't take into account was the other animals and all the other animals died off so the foxes had to adapt to hunt each other and have thick tongues so that they could eat cacti which were the only plans that were fireproof due to an experiment a few years prior.

- finally, all of the rest of the vegetation died except for the cacti and all that was left was a barren brown desert so, the foxes had to adapt once more. that is where we get the modern day dusty brown color that will disguise these desert devils so they can prey on humans and other foxes.
