- Balder was the most beautiful of all the gods. Many considered him the light of the world.He had a dream where he was killed. Frigg decided to ask the world to protect him and never bring him harm.
- Frigg returned home knowing that her son was safe. People celebrated by playing games. They would shoot arrows and swing their swords at them only to find that they could not hurt him. Loki was jealous.
- Loki disguises himself as a women. He asks Frigga what is happening and she tells him that he is protected from everything except mistletoe because she didn't think it could hurt him. He leaves and returns later.
- Loki shoots an arrow with mistletoe and kills Balder. Frigg could not let her son die so she sent Hermod to the land of the dead to get Balder back. Odin sent him with Sleipnir.
- The Gods carried Balder onto Ringhorn and when his wife saw him, she died of a broken heart. Hermond was working on his mission and found Hel. She said that if every all beings weep for Balder, he can return. But if one creature does not, he must stay.
- The messenger came across a giantess in a cave. Thokk was actually Loki in disguise again. Thokk said that he did not like Balder so she will not weep for him. Balder was unable to come back so the dark of winter was victorious over the light of the world.
