- Hi everyone! we were both refugees and were gonna be telling our stories
- 3. when me and my friend Ivan were on the side of the boat he got bit by a shark and he died. When we got to the US my mom was having a baby on our boat. we almost got caught by the coast guard but we made it since my grandpa jumped off
- 1. hi, my names Isabel and thats Josef. I was a refugee in 1994. I was living in Havana, Cuba. There was a lot of rioting there. The ruler at the time was Fidel Casto.
- 2. it wasnt a very free country. We weren't allowed to leave there until Fidel let us. My family left on a boat to the US and we ended up in the Bahamas.
- 4.and then i started to live my best life in the US and started going to school. Thank you for listening and that was my story.
- 3. Then we werent allowed to get off the ship and me and a group of people tried to sabotage the ship so we could get off but we failed. After that there were groups that got different locations that they were sent to.
- 2. Later on we got on the ship called MS St Louis. Later on we had to get a medical exam done and my dad was going nuts because he thought that he was gonna get sent back to the camp
- 1. hi im Josef. I was a refugee in 1939. my dad was sent to a concentration camp called Dachau. He was tortured there. The Nazis broke into my house and destroyed everything and then took my dad to the camp.
- 4. When we got there we were happy but my dad wasnt there because he jumped off the ship. Later on there was war and my mom had to choose between me and my sister Ruthie. I chose for her. That was my story. Thanks for listening
