- Man vs. Man- 2 sentences. On page 30 it says, ... Brain looking over his head to see the station wagon and his mother sitting with a man... One reason that it is a man vs man because Brain mother is dating or hanging out with another man that she wasn't suppose to. Second I think the man knew that she had a husband, so thats another thing that did wrong.
- This is man vs self. Brian is afraid of what will happen to him when the plane runs out of gas. He thinks of all the horrible things and vomits at one point. On page 24 it says; ...between the seventeenth and eighteenth radio transmission, without a warning, the engine coughed, roared, cut only by the sound of the wind-milling propeller and the wind past the cockpit. Brain pushed the nose of the plane down and threw up.
- This man vs nature because: The pilot is having a heart attack. On page 10 says that: "The pilot's mouth went rigid, he wore and jerked a short series of slams into the seat, holding his shoulder now. Swore and hissed, "Chest! Oh God, my chest is coming a part." He knew now. The pilot was having a heart attack."
