- Communication is important for everyone in the entire world! It connects us and allows us to build meaningful relationships.
- While watching these videos I was fascinated by how iPads, AAC devices, and communication boards help to impact those are who unable to speak in positive beneficial ways.
- I learned about how without communication devices, people struggled and gave into themselves. They did not feel connected and they could not say what they wanted or needed to say
- The videos showed me how communication is important to build relationships, and work jobs. Additionally, I learned that people with autism benefit from iPads because they use them well and like the structure that the iPad provides.
- I thought It was very endearing to see people not give up on others and fight for ways for them to communicate like Mayas mom. A lot of schools and healthcare professionals give up but with communication children and people with disabilities can thrive and achieve great things. Communication is important for wants and needs to relationships and spilling out frustrations.
- I am glad we have come up with ways for people to communicate wether It be the PECS board, iPad, Minspeak, etc. Apps for children with Autism are very beneficial as well because they can tell us what the person knows, or likes or wants/needs. Just like the student who likes classical music and opera. This was all communicated and understood through the use of a communication device. These devices might cause frustration when they dont work or people dont understand but they serve as a benefit have more positive outcomes than negative.
