- Emma Watson is born in Paris, France in 1990 to her parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson, both lawyers.
- Emma Watson's parents divorced when she was age 5. She moved to Oxfordshire, England to live with her mother, while spending weekends at her father's house in London.
- While a child, Watson took great interest in becoming an actress. Watson featured in many school plays, and outside of school took singing and acting classes.
- Watson started her acting career in 1999 after auditioning for the part of Hermione Granger in the movie adaptation of JK Rowling's "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone". She became great friends with the actors of Ronald Weasley, Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy.
- Once the Harry Potter movies had ended, Watson took on roles for characters in more mature stories. She starred in films such as The Perks of Being a Wallflower, The Bling Ring, The Colony and The Circle. While in her acting career, Watson pursued a college degree. She began attending Brown University in 2009. She also studied for a year at the University of Oxford. She graduated from Brown in 2014 in English Literature.
- In 2014 Watson was named a UN Goodwill Women Ambassador. She was an advocate for women's rights and gender equality. Watson ran an online feminist book club called Our Shared Shelf from 2016-2020.
