  • In this scene, Gatsby feels compelled to accompany Nick on their way to their respective plans for lunch because he wants to appear as appealing to Nick as possible in the hopes of dispelling all the allegations Nick has heard about him. Gatsby is concerned because he has favors and clarifications to give Nick, while Nick draws conclusions about who and what the real Gatsby is. To put it bluntly, Gatsby lies about his past.
  • Chapter 5: For I Have the Richness of the World to Hand to You
  • Jordan is explaining to Nick the favor Gatsby wants Nick to do in this scenario. Nick is completely taken aback by Gatsby's request that he invite Daisy to tea at his home so that Gatsby can re-unite with Daisy. Jordan also detailed Gatsby and Daisy's romantic fling before Gatsby had to go to war.
  • Chapter 6: Jay Gatz or James Gatsby?
  • A fantastic scene in the story. Gatsby and Daisy are eventually reunited in this scene. Gatsby initially felt ashamed and panicked, as if he'd seen a ghost, whilst Daisy seemed to enjoy the fact that Gatsby was right in front of her. Nick eventually decided to give them privacy and leave them alone. However, as soon as Nick returned from his quiet stroll, he looked at Gatsby, and Gatsby's features shined brilliantly enough to dissolve the gloomy weather. Gatsby radiated like the Sun.
  • Chapter 6: Repeat the Past Once More
  • After the meeting between Gatsby, Daisy, and Nick at Nick's house, Gatsby brought them to his. This scene is essential since it is at this point when Gatsby and Daisy's love begins to revive. Daisy's heart was reponed once more as Gatsby bestowed Daisy upon his treasures.
  • In this scene, James Gatsby discovered his opportunity to be the James Gatsby he has always wanted to be. Dan Cody was out on his yacht when Jay Gatz approached him and cautioned him about the dangers that could befall him and his yacht. As time passed, Dan Cody and James Gatsby developed a friendship that would shape Gatsby into the man he is today.
  • "Can't go back in time?" Yes, you certainly can!"Gatsby is upset in this moment because Daisy is not having fun at his party because Tom has her chained up. Daisy wants to leave Tom, so Gatsby seeks Nick's help and someone to vent to. Nick claims that Gatsby cannot heal the past (the old summer romance), but Gatsby counters.
