  • The king and Laertes talk alone. Claudius blames Hamlet for the death of Polonius but Laertes is more upset with the King. Laertes shames the king for not taking action against Hamlet. King Claudius says Hamlet is too popular and there would be riots.
  • Laertes! Your sister has drowned!
  • Osric gives Claudius the letters from Hamlet and he reads them out loud. Laertes wants to confront Hamlet to make himself feel better.
