- "Lily," I finally say
- Lily Bloom is sitting on the edge of a rooftop clearing her head. She meets a man named Ryle on the rooftop. They have deep conversations.
- "What's your name?" he asks.
- Ryle and Lily reunite after a couple months. They begin dating and are very happy.
- “His hands are digging into my shoulders as he pushes me toward the bed. I start trying to fight him off of me, but it’s useless.
- Ryle is inside their new home. He finds Lily's letters to Atlas. He becomes very angry and hurts her. This abuse continues through their relationship.
- "I don’t think it would be fair to either of us if I made that decision before the birth of this baby”
- "What about us?" he whispers.
- Lily discovers she is pregnant. She tells Ryle that she will make her decision about their relationship after she gives birth.
- After giving birth to her daughter, Lily makes the decision to leave Ryle. She is ending the cycle of abuse.
- “I’ll be damned if I allow my daughter to go through it."
- “It feels just like the first time he kissed me there all those years ago.”
- “You can stop swimming now, Lily. We finally reached the shore
- Lily chases after Atlas. Lily asks him questions about what he wants for his future. They are both ready to be with each other.
