- Some Capulet servants are on the streets and see some Montague servants. They bite their thumb and start a fight. Benvolio try stop it an Tybalt starts it back up. All of the people on the street join in and even both lords start fighting. The prince comes by and stops it, and tells both lords that if they fight again they will both be killed.

- Paris comes to meet lord Capulet and asks to marry Juliet. He is told that he should wait a year or two, but is invited back to a party that evening and is told to try and woo Juliet. Then a servant is sent out to invite people, but cannot read, so he asks Romeo and Benvolio to read it for him. They are then invited, if they aren't Montagues. Eventually Benvollio convinces Romeo to go in order to try and get over his love of Rosaline.

- Lady Capulet and the Nurse talk to Juliet about Paris and getting married, Juliet doesn't specifically want to marry him, but is willing to.

- On their way to the party Romeo becomes weary and talks about a bad dream of his, then Marcutio goes on a rant about Queen Mab and how dreams aren't to be trusted, and they all go into the party.

- They go to the party, and Romeo meets Juliet and they fall in love. While they are talking Tybalt recognizes Romeo and gets ready to start another fight, but lord Capulet stops him. After everyone leaves Romeo and Juliet both realize that the other is from an enemy family.
