So, the people who lived in Stephen F. Austin's colony were all americans and there were a lot who settled there. The location of this colony was between the Brazos and Colorado Rivers. The capitol was San Felipe de Austin.
Now, I've been talking for a while so now i wanna give you some details about the settlement. First of all, did you know that Stephen A. Austin promised 640 acres for each man, 320 acres for each woman, 160 acres for each child, and 80 acres for each slave for all of the colonists that settled there.
Also, Stephen F. Austin's colony was so successful because Each family received 177 very inexpensive acres of farmland or 4,428 acres for stock grazing, as well as a 10-year exemption from paying taxes. The sucess of the colony was that the colony was the largest and most successful colony at the time.
