Despite the pleas from his parents, Hector stood strong and was ready fight the battle that was running towards him.
In seeing Achilles rush towards him, Hector began to run in fear. Achilles began to chase after him, and they went on like this for a long, long time.
Meanwhile, Zeus and Athene watched the whole ordeal from above. Athene favored the Greeks and begged Zeus to allow her to intervene and help Achilles.
Zeus agrees.
And so, Athene appears to Hector as one of his brothers, Deiphobus, and convinces Hector to stand his ground and fight.
In the end, Achilles wins and punctures the throat of Hector.
Hector was quite the man of honor, and with his dying breaths, begged Achilles to honor his dead body.
Hector, however, stripped him of his armor and tied his body to the back of a chariot to be dragged around the grounds in dishonor.
