However, it’s fairly easy to purchase because of its other uses (such as pressurizing whipped cream dispensers) and was the second-most used recreational drug among 16-24 year olds in the UK in 2020. A U.S. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration 2019 survey found that almost 13 million Americans aged 12 and older had misused nitrous oxide in their lifetime.
