  • CEASAR RULES! POMPEY DROOLS!
  • HENCE! HOME, YOU IDLE CREATURES, GET YOU HOME! IT'S THE MIDDLE OF THE WORK DAY! WHY ARE YOU OUT PARTYING IN THE STREETS LIKE THIS?
  • Don't you know? Julius Caesar has returned in triumph after defeating the rebel Pompey!
  • He's the best!
  • All the people are celebrating and praising Caesar.
  • POMPEY! Not too long ago you were all out in the streets celebrating POMPEY'S victories! Remember that? And now you're here revelling in the triumph of his CONQUEROR! Do you have no shame?
  • Not really...
  • The Roman tribunes, Marallus and Flavius, are questioning why the people are out in their best clothes, parading the streets and celebrating.
  • Variable Vagabonds?
  • GO HOME!!!
  • Go home, you fickle fools! You heartless hypocrites! You... You...
  • The commoners explainn to the tribunes thet they are celebrating because Caesar defeated Pompey, their original ruler.
  • If you ask me, Caesar is getting a bit too big for his caligae...
  • The tribunes question the nature of their decision to celebrate Caesar, when he is the one who took down the man they loved.
  • Marallus and Flavius criticize and ridicule the people as heartless and disloyal, who are easily swayed and will flock to whomever they choose.
  • The tribunes begin to thik that Caesar is gaining too much power.
