- After managing to finish the harvest, they realize that they harvested so much more than Mr. Jones and his men ever did, and it took two days less; this is when all the animals realize how good animalism is a love it; however, cracks soon form. Soon after the harvest, two of the dogs give birth to 9 puppies. When Napoleon takes them away, and to the house, they are isolated for so long that everybody then forgets about them. Snowball then makes committees and tries to educate the others however only a few actually learn to read. Later the milk mystery is solved as the animals learn it was mixed into the pig mash every day, and the pigs trick the animals into giving them all the apples by talking about how if the pigs go hungry, then Mr. Jones will come back.
- By summer, news had spread across the county that the animals in the animal farms had rebelled. The other farm owners thought nothing of it, but soon enough, as their animals started to rebel, they became scared and wanted to stop their animals from rebelling against them, so they came up with a team to take back the farm. As they arrived, the animals had heard what was happening and were ready. Snowball was the strategist and used wave tactics to attack until they had them surround and attacked all at once. They managed to knock back the humans, but Snowball was injured, and one sheep was dead. They named the battle The Battle of Cowshed. They had also gotten Jones' gun. Afterward, they made military-esc ranks with boxer and Snowball getting Animal Hero - First Class and the dead sheep getting Animal Hero - Second Class.
- Now with the beginning of winter, the animals could not grow any more crops and had to limit activities, Mollie however started to rebel, and after being caught hanging out with humans, she ran away, and everybody never mentioned her again. The pigs are locked up in the house planning for the next season when Snowball comes up with a great idea, which is creating a windmill. However, the decision is split as Napoleon disagrees with this. Eventually, it had all come down to a vote which was held later. At the vote, snowball made a grand speech, but Napoleon just bluntly disagreed. Napoleon then took out the dogs he had and ordered them to chase Snowball out of the farm. Afterward he instates new rules, and when asked why he did it, squealer told them that the windmill was actually his plan Snowball stole them, and that Snowball is a criminal, not a hero.
