  • The boy makes an arrogant claim that he can hunt and kill way more animals than his father,
  • Falling Action
  • His father hears about his claim and he is furious. He sends down a magical scorpion to kill his own son, Orpheus. However, the scorpion takes a few days to reach Earth. During this time, Orpheus decides to take it a step further by once again killing a bunch of animals, but this time he just left them there. Apollo, being the god of the sun and archery, is enraged, and sends down an army of scorpions, on his own son!
  • Resolution
  • The first scorpion arrives and Orpheus tries to fend it off. But the scorpion is immortal. Eventually, the scorpion kills Orpheus. Orpheus died before the army even came.
  • Even though Apollo killed his own son, he still mourned for him. Orpheus deserved to get punished, but Apollo didn't have to kill him.
  • Apollo asked Zeus if he could bring Orpheus back. But Zeus couldn't birng him back as a human. He could only bring him back as an animal. And seeing as there was no scorpions on Earth, Zeus decided to bring Orpheus back as a scorpion. And that is how scorpions came to be.
