- Jonah said:
- I am the reason for this storm. throw me into the sea, and the waters will calm.
- The sailors threw Jonah into the water, and the waters instantly calmed. The Lord arranged for a big fish to swallow Jonah whole.
- Jonah was in the whale's stomach for three days and three nights. Inside the fish, Jonah prayed the whole time.
- God ordered the whale to spit out Jonah on the beach.
- Get up and go to Nineveh, and deliver the message I've given you
- God spoke to Jonah again on the beach.
- Jonah told the people of Nineveh:
- Forty days from now, Nineveh will be destroyed!
