- Hey mom! Did you know we learned about homeostasis in class today?
- Mmm.. what is that?
- It's the maintenance of a constant internal environment in the body. Our body has heating and cooling mechanisms.
- So, when the temperature outside increases,like right now, cooling mechanisms are activated in our body, therefore we start sweating! This is so our body temperature doesn't rise.
- Well that is certainly true, and yes we always need a good shower after sweating hahaha. Glad you learned something new today Clara.
- Yes sweat is not very pleasant and stinky hahaha but, we should thank our body for producing it because without it, we would be burning all day from the heat!!
