- Rose is described in the story as ten years younger than Troy meaning they have not let nothing come between them. The text states "Rose enters from the house. She is ten years younger than Troy(Wilson 11). This shows the youngness in Rose and that nothing can stop her from being happy.
- Rose cares about Troy and his mental health she tells him not to worry or stress himself out about the foolishness that's happening at his job. In the text it states,"Troy, you ought to stop worrying about what happened at work yesterday"(Wilson 26). Rose is always there for Troy and makes sure he isn't stressing about anything and how they have other important things to worry about
- This shows how Troy does not play around and he tends to stress out or get upset about situations. In the text it states,"Negro come behind him and aint got nothing but the potatoes and carrots...Ain't done nothing but make a worser fool out of him than he was before"
- Rose will never stop loving Troy no matter what happens. Rose just wanted a happy family. In the text it states, "I been standing here with you...Troy, I held you tighter. You were my husband. I owed you everything I had... I never wanted that for none of my children. And now you wanna drag your behind in here and tell me something like that(Wilson 65). This shows how hurt Rose was after the news from Troy and hate that Troy breaking the family up . This also shows that Rose didn't want her kids to Experience the parents being seperated.
