- Gated communities are residential areas with a fence around them. Used to create a sense of safety for residents. Housing tends to be significantly higher for properties within gated communities
- Gentrification
- I'm so excited to move in!
- They renovated the place, and now it's too expensive to live here.
- Main area of a city. Retail and office occupations often cluster there. The CBD of a city is the main market where businesses want to be settled.
- Suburb
- Not too close or too far from the city. It's perfect
- A mesh of the urban city and residential areas, with diversity of housing and jobs. New urbanism reduces dependence on cars, and aims to take up less space.
- Rural
- Do you think we should get some extra feed for the animals?
- It's an hour drive to town...
- Gentrified neighborhoods are residential areas that have transitioned from housing people of a low-income status to housing the middle class. It commonly is associated with higher property values in previously low-income areas.
- Suburbs are residential areas outlying the central part of a city. It's a functionally uniform part of an urban area, consisting mostly of housing.
- Rural areas are far outside the main city. Sparsely settled, and typically devoted to agriculture. Include hamlets, villages, towns, and other small settlements.
