- Our conflict start when Scout and Jem overhear a conversation between Aunt Alexandra and Atticus. Jem starts to advise in a demanding way for Scout to stop creating problems with Aunty and for her to do just she says.

- After Jem's warning and so demanding the this makes Scout very angry and they began to fight! Scout got the chance to punish him in the stomach and she even jump on him. By her doing this makes believes that they are still equal regardless of Jem's age now.
- " Ain't so high and mighty now, are you!" (Lee)
- Ahhhhh, stop punching me Scout or I will hit you back even harder!
- The screams and sound of struggle alerted Atticus, their father. He comes into the room and breaks the fight. Once he finds out what happened he tries to fix things by telling Scout that she doesn't have to do what Jem tells her and also mentions to her and Jem to calm down and go to bed.
- "Jem did. he was tryin' to tell me what to do. I don't have to mind him now do I?" (Lee)
- "That is all, Both go to bed right now!! Who started it? " (Lee)
- "Let's leave it at this: you mind Jem whenever he can make you. Fair enough?" (Lee)
