- Ada and Jaime run away for safety from the war and get sent to Susan's where eventually she see's a horse his name is butter. Susan complains that she didn't want kids but soon enough she falls in love with Ada and Jaime

- Ada was on a ride with her horse looking out for spies she came back to find her abusive mother and questioning why she was wearing fancy clothes and Susan begged Ada to stay with her, but she couldn't leave Jaime alone. When she went back Mam had gotten a new apartment and made Ada sit in the chair again;
- Once ada had woken up she saw her crutches were gone. she knew her mother had thrown them away. Ada confronted her mom and said that her and jaime are leaving tomorrow. it was night and london was getting bombed Ada couldnt walk . her mom threw them away.When ada and Jaime made it out of the buiilding they had gone to a shelter ada hated it. When the bombs stopped they went out and they saw susan and they went back home together.
